The Theater Page is up and running. We have THREE options, one of which has some deadlines coming up very soon:


Sign of the Seahorse (2nd-8th grades)  Our most intensive class option. Must have completed this survey interest survey by Oct. 30, 2017 and then come to audition day on Nov. 2. See details on theater page.

The Ocean staff will consider the size and developmental readiness of actors interested in the Advanced Theater (Sign of the Seahorse) cast, which is why you MUST have completed the interest survey no later than October 30.

    Thursday Art Classes (All grades)




    Teaching Artists work with students on projects in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Music or Dance every Thursday at the following times unless otherwise specified.  Ocean teachers work alongside Artists to help students during each session.

    THURSDAY ART schedule follows:

    Groupers (11 - 14 year olds): 11:30 - 12:00: Games with Deb, room A; 12:00 - 1:00 with Artist, room C

    Urchins: (8-11 year olds)1:00 sharp - 2:00: with Artist, room C.  2:00-3:00 activities with Staff

    Squirts:  (5-8 year olds) 1:00 - 2:00: activities with Staff, room A; 2:00 - 3:00 with Artist, room C 

    Please wear clothing that can get dirty.


    Drawing and Painting with Toaa Dallo

    Thursdays Nov. 8, 15, 29 and Dec. 6, 13

    Students will be learning lots of drawing and painting techniques with Toaa and creating several projects using acrylics.  All students are encouraged to participate.  Toaa will teach beginning techniques that are appropriate for all ages.  Consistency is helpful but everyone is welcome to come when you can.

    Nov. 8: Drawing a still life including shading and perspective.

    Nov. 15 and 29: Painting with Acrylics -- wear clothes that could get stained, smocks provided.

    New Teaching Artist Toaa Dallo

    Toaa has been drawing and painting since he was 16 and he has taught classes and workshops in schools and at his Santa Cruz art studio since 1994.  He also teaches weekly classes to students of all ages Saturdays at Palace Art in Capitola.
